Wow, 2.14 miles. That 750 grain slug is hard to top at extreme range, huh?

I run. And have for a long time, on and off. So I have a very clear idea of exactly how far 2.14 miles is.

It's a long way to shoot someone. He must have deserved it. Haha! ISIS assholes!

Yes, thank you.

I will gratefully, and freely, thank our Canadian sniper counterparts for their proven service to the cause of freedom. Canadian snipers have proven beyond any doubt that they are unexcelled in ability.

FREEDOM!!!!!!

Stan, there's got to be something else going on with this shooting. There can't be that much difference in military forces.

That 975m “edge” over the previous record must be different technology. My guess the computer dialled in by the spotter.

Or, possibly but not likely, I recall a US colonel involved in debriefing US-Can snipers in Afghanistan telling me US Army wanted the scope mount Canadians were using but Washington said no.

With all the data and video backing the shot, the article had the ring of a command performance, as if this is the new norm.

Here is some real dedicated field shooting in Norway.
They are absolutely right in that if you want to hit in tough conditions, you must practice in tough conditions.

Well made video.

That's is a heck of a shot but how many people will not move for ten seconds? Well longer than that because he had to sight and shoot plus ten seconds travel time for the shot. Extreme shot none the less.

Here is a picture of my F class rifle it started life as an Omark bigbore target rifle (7.62) and now is a 6.5 Super LR
it has Krieger Light varmit barrel 30" long Richards Microfit stock custom 20moa scope rail and currently a Vortex Viper scope
I can normally shoot into the mid to high 50's (out of 60) at the long ranges (800-1000y)
the calibre is a wildcat based on a 260 rem 42.5grs of H4350 with a 140gr bullet is just on 3000fps nice to shoot and accurate I can hit claybirds on our rifle ranges back mound which is 700y
