Some us still regularly hunt with older Remington SxS's. This is a 12 gauge Model 1900 with steel barrels; redone by gunsmith Buck Hamlin.

I foolishly passed on a nice FE several years ago. Made up for it by getting two BE, and early one with integral firing pins and then a later one with the separate pins.
I still wish that guy I helped identify his 16 gauge EE two barrel set would sell it to me!

Oh yeah!! Pretty well gone to patina (aka rust) for finish, but a half-pistol grip EE-Grade 16-gauge two-barrel set, we are not likely to see another.

No, no, no. That EE set was just another old brown gun. A useless piece of junk.
Out there doing it best I can.

When I lived in Virginia I used my KE-Grade 16-gauge quite a bit for Doves -- And, because I couldn't stand to just have it sit just in the gun room, I've shot a few rounds of skeet with my other 16-gauge Remington Hammerless Double --

Too bad that one got all scratched up Researcher! I really need to get the BOOK. So far what I think I know, only 12 and 16 ga. but several frame sizes. Pattern counts on the lugs. The grade initials show barrel type, engraving level, and if it is an ejector gun. What I haven't figured out is the grading system. Does it go up the alphabet like Fox Grades? And is there a truly light 16 ga. to chase after? Any other tid bits of info, or insights, until I get the book will be appreciated

Gets better as you go up the alphabet. they seem to come in different weights. I have seen 1894's in 12 gauge that weight over 8 lbs. I have an A grade 12g. with 28" damascus barrels that weighs in at 6 3/4 lbs. I also have 1889's and I like them too. Hard to collect Remingtons in the higher grades since there seem to be so few of them.
So many guns, so little time!

Both my BE's are in the 7 pounds 5 ounce area. Don't have exact handy. 12 gauge with 30" barrels.
K (Model 1900), A, B, F (Trap), C, D, E & Special. At least that's how I understand it to be. An "E" following denotes ejector.
