Crossed chisels and I had a bit o' fun a couple of weeks ago as Burnham and Crackem combined forces with Hackem and Stabumm, for a "joint" Boss pair composition work and play vacation.
Luisa and I arrived by jet mule from Montana, toolkit in tow,and proceeded to have a lot of fun as guests of Mr T and Ms "E".
The lobster were crawling between the "dead indians" on the work bench, and despite the distractions of bagpipes and phonecalls, a bit of work was done by the "merry men" (and women)of old mtn road.

Amongst other things, we worked on the relettering of the Bbls, as this composed pair comes closer to unity, there is still a bit o' work, but they are coming together.

David smiles as the bit and brace he made as an apprentice at Purdey does its job, breaking loose the Purdey cross pin from the Boss action. It is a difficult task, never easy to accomplish.

The layout for the lettering is measured carefully using a smoke pull from one Bbl to match up the layout for the new Mick Kelly bbls lettering for the other gun in the pair.

I was vacationing at Parsons Beach last month as I have for the last 27 years and thought of disturbing your peace and quiet but being a bit shy of intruding I let it go by. If there is a way of introducing myself without intruding, let me (us) know. Great photos of you working! It would be great to meet you. David

Lord love a stereo microscope. Keeps one from accidently carving one's own nose tip. For what tasks do you chose appropriate power[s]?

I find the visor magnifiers tedious, but better than the total hunchback posistion. Of course, I'm not doing work of the finess or exactitude which you are, so even 5X with good depth of field gets me by.

As always, enjoy the technical contributions. I can see by Mr T's brace and technique, that Purdey's thot an apprentice buggered screw/pin head was only slightly less of a sin than eating that famous apple from the serpent's tree.

Relax; we're all experts here.

Great pics, Barry.

What's Mr. T have on the gun rack in the background of the third pic?
