I just inherited a GR3 this week. My brother bought it new in the mid '60's and hunted the gun hard for many, many years. It is a 3" 12, 30" bbls, pistol grip, beavertail, solid rib with single selective trigger. It was choked Mod and Full, he had the full choke opened up to improved modified at some time in the past. Look forward to shooting it this fall, envision it to fill a hole in my arsenal for spooky late season prairie grouse. Bill did tell me to avoid 3" loads, he had the bottom rib come loose from overly heavy loads which was decently repaired. I will take his advice, have little use for much over 1.25 ounce loads.
