I have two 16 GA 1894's. One is a BE and the other is a CEO. The BE weighs 6 pounds 6.6 ounces and it has 27" barrels. The tubes do touch at the muzzle so I am not sure if they were cut or not. The CEO has 28" barrels and weighs 6 pounds 9.5 ounces. I had Briley fit a set of 28 GA tubes to the BE and it weighs 7 pounds 1.1 ounce with tubes in place. The BE has been blued sometime in the past and the CEO was apparently modified to a straight grip sometime in the past as the grip iron is made up of 2 pieces expertly joined together.
