200 rounds for 12 upland birds should get it done. Maybe you'll have a few left over for waterfowl or snipe?

Another recent observation is that of a well-spoken retired professor I know who had the misfortune of having a DUI in Montana a decade ago. He arrived at the border with his wife and camper packed for a two week vacation, and was turned back at the border with the Canadian authorities' observation that they were "Not fully confident he would conduct himself safely on Canada's roads." It really screwed his plans.

Since you can't use your Garmin you need to think outside the box. Strap I phones to each dog. Then you can run a app to locate them using a gps system. You could also set their ring tones to mimic a hawk scream which will serve two purposes. First it will help you locate them in heavy cover. Second that hawk scream should scare the heck out of any game birds and force them to hunker down in cover until you get there to shoot them.

The only down side to this is if you can't get a strong signal out in remote areas. Perhaps strap a satellite phone to one dog and create a mini hot spot that all the dogs could use as a network. But even this would be easier than getting any government to make rapid changes without years of studies or multiple hearings.

GG, I'm surprised the friendly Canadian border authorities did not disclose the "forgiveness" program they have where a payment of $400 will earn a blind eye to previous indiscretions and entry in to the Country. Some of my rowdy friends learned of this program for the same reason your professor friend did...Geo

His mistake was that he tried to enter legally. He should crossed a field to get in and when picked up (our RCMP are waiting to help with the bags)he should have said he was Guatemalan and a refugee from Trump's America. Our authorities would have rolled out the red carpet.

Tiles have a limited range which is impractical to use in a hunting situation compared with the Garmin Alpha series. I have one my key chain and it depends on close proximity to a smartphone.

Yes, they transmit on Bluetooth, 100 ft range. You can network the apps to find lost object with other Tile owners over an extended range, if those owners desire to participate in that capability. For example, to locate a stolen bicycle or the like (or wandering dog in the city). Hard to beat the Garmin for what it does.

Reading this stormtrooper stuff makes me wonder why we don't just invade Canada and make it part of the USA already. The last time I went into Canada, the arrogant young Canadian customs guy head to toe in body armor asked my small children about daddy's guns, where he stores them, how many he has, is he safe with them, etc. It was an infuriating experience for someone from a nation with individual liberty. Way too much state power, and the bigger the government, the smaller the citizen. I haven't been back to Canada since then, and I have avoided it.

Invade Canada? It was done...twice:
-- 1776: Assault on Montreal and Quebec led by Benedict Arnold. Came close to success. (some great novels written by Kenneth Roberts and others.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/481435.Through_a_Howling_Wilderness
https://www.amazon.com/March-Quebec-Kenneth-Lewis-Roberts/dp/0892720832

-- 1812-1814 - Montreal (failed miserably) and Detroit area...lost won lost.

Oh yes...President Polk and the 54.40 or fight issue of 1844...which would have led to much of Canada west of the Great Lakes being USA. Actually it was a ploy to insure the USA had the Straits of San Juan de Fuca and Seattle as a port...which succeeded when the 49th parallel became the border. (only three great ports on the west coast of North America...San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle...Polk got them all - the one President who operated with firm Geographic national objectives.

There was some talk with the Quebec Libre stuff of the early 1960's of English speaking Canada just bailing and applying for statehood. Didn't go very far. There were also war gaming at the time which recommended Canada just disband its military and let the USA carry the load.. Canada's efforts being miniscule during the Cold War i.e. World WarIII.
