Brian and John,

John is right. The gun is sleeved and has lost its collector value. I recognize that the esthetics of Monte Carlo stocks, including the ones that Uncle Dan's factory produced in the mid-1890s, are not to everybody's taste. My own favorite design is a straight stock with high dimensions. But the Monte Carlo design makes this old Lefever shootable for me, and Mark's seamless additions and grain and figure matching are amazing. It is hard enough to pull this off with a stock extension, let alone a stock extension and spliced addition to the comb. That achievement struck me as remarkable and worth sharing. Thanks for all the comments.
