Brittany Man,

The British 2" gun was built to be well under 6 lbs. You can always shoot 2" shells in a 6 lb 2.5" gun. It should pattern about the same.

I don't find 2 1/2" 12 ga guns w/28" bbls that weigh 6 lbs very plentiful, most 2 1/2" 12 ga guns are around 6 lb 4 oz or a little more & the 2" Britt guns that weigh <6 lbs feel a little "whippy" to me.

About 10 years ago, I had on approval a used 2" 12 ga Arrieta w/ 28" bbls that New England Arms had imported that was around 6 lbs & IMHO handled nicely but I returned it to the seller it because the right bbl shot about a full pattern to the left @ 20 yds. Looked to me like a major dent had been removed from the right bbl. Nice gun otherwise & would have made dandy grouse & woodcock gun if the right bbl had shot where it was supposed to. I was impressed with how well the 2" RST 7/8 oz 7 1/2 loads patterned.
