OMG! That Macnaughton is to die for.

Several years ago I gave up on the British auctions out of sheer frustration. I didn't even look at the catalog listings for this auction. I wish I had had the gumption to be there for this rifle.

The site shows 16000, but I don't think it includes the buyer's fee of 25%. I wonder how many skeleton actions were made as a double rifle.

Wit buyers and vat that went for 20,470. Pounds of course. That's $27,268.91 . More than my allowance for shooting this month. My question is not only few were made but who many are left as well? Still one that I'd just love to hold and shoot.

Oh hell the Mcnaughton was bargain at that price. The real money was spent on the Purdey non-ejector .450 bpe, lot#999. Only 36,000 GBP or after the hammer 59950$ USD. That is some serious cash for a BPE rifle.
