Hey all, I'm looking for a good quality shotgun cleaning kit for my sons Christmas gift. Need a good one, not the cheap ones you can get any place.
Can you direct me to one?
Thanks so much!

I have a clean everything in the world cased kit from Cabela's and a Pachmayr 12ga cased thing that is way cool. Both were much appreciated gifts. I have no idea what they may have cost.

For the 'wow' factor, and for display, those kits are all nice.
The problem is.. the actual tools leave a lot to be desired.
A 'good' kit would contain the following:
Brownell's 'Double Tuff' bore brushes in the desired gauges. A sturdy 3 piece aluminum rod. Brass slotted jag to fit the rod. A couple yards of low lint flannel cloth. Fiskers scissors for making tight fitting patches from the flannel. Large can of Rem Oil. Tube of Outers 'choke tube lube and gun grease'.
And a paper bag to contain all the above.
You might add a cordless drill and some 0000 steel wool for when the going gets tough.
"You gonna clean guns, or you gonna mess around?"
Only mildly posted in jest Greg. I'd seriously rather have a box of a dozen of those Brownell's brushes than a look pretty leather case.

Well. you know what they say, Jonesy, "there's no accounting for taste."
I've had three piece rosewood rods for decades they hold up real good.

And never a tie.
I do, however, lust after the 'field bar' from Kevin's Catalog.
THAT is style.
