I've seen two S57e Berettas that had their stocks bent and on both occasions it left the polyurethane finish with a smokey look to it. The owners both then had the stocks stripped and refinished. One was bent using steam and the other was either with an infrared lamp or warm oil. I was the culprit that used steam.
