Perazzi may use a lacq type finish in the Euro market but the stocks here that I've stripped have been anything but. Not quite the epoxy level but mucho robust. I can't tell you how far back that goes but I'd be guessing mid-80's at least. The older stocks strip easier but they still don't look or wear like any lacq finish. Same goes for Beretta. That's all FWIW since I'm no finish expert by any means.
the hot tip I have heard is that TruOil is very favored by Italian gunmakers on high end goods. Seems like I read that in something by Nobili. So fancy varnish.
