I find myself with a decision to pickup another AYA 25bl bought in the mid 70s with 10 other guns my father bought for five grouse hunting buddies, I know this gun Has had no more than 200 rounds through it. Or a one of a kind Ken Netting 3/4 scale 410 fowler flint lock.
Here's the kicker AYA at a cost of $900 the Fowler $1200.

Which one are you going to kick yourself the most for not buying five years from now? Heck when in doubt buy both.

I would buy the 3/4 scale fowler. There will be plenty of SxS as time goes on because supply will exceed demand for them.

You can pick up the AYA at any time. That fowler in a flint at 410 ga. is unique and you will have to wait a long time for it to come around again. But you have to be into the sub gauges and the slow loading time it takes with a flint. I know because the guys/gals I hunt with won't wait for me to reload my fowler.

The prices are pretty similar. I'd buy the family gun, then you could kick the friend for not giving you a better price. I personally wouldn't get over excited about either, so it would be a sentimental purchase or move on down the road, unless flintlocks are a passion of yours. Best of luck with it.

To buy, or not to buy: that is the question
Whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous prices
Or to wait until the bursting of SXS bubbles

Buy them both and tray them. Sell one if you don't like it after shooting.

I would be considering the flinter as well. As already mentioned, you don't come across one every day in .410, plus I am partial to front stuffers.
