It would fit me.
But, it looks like someone took a rasp to the nose comb of the stock. I would not say that comb treatment is typical Purdey.

When I was in their shop, they were still emulating Ezra Hand's work.

Something looks funky there.

For me, 2 barrels, dt, ej, sg, sf, deeley latch, 1 1/2 x 2 1/4, and 1/4 and 3/4. 24lpi or less, POW with cap a close second.
Perhaps not the most efficient, but always makes me happiest.

Out there doing it best I can.

It's missing a trigger.

Ken

Wonder where it went? Guess it will be a single shot...oh wait, one trigger works both barrels. Who'd a thunk?

Proper is subjective in the details, in the big picture most would agree on two barrels side by side, mechanically sound, and pleasing to user in terms of being able to hit with it.

After that, triggers, safety, weight, balance, stocking, etc is a matter of taste, as shown by the argument over straight vs pistol vs PoW grips.

Each of us can project what is proper for ourselves, but it is not a universal to everyone else.

There is no "proper" SxS shotgun. The best thing to do is to fly to London, Northern Italy,.....and have one crafted to individual dimension and intended use. Custom fitted footwear and attire is usually ordered at the same time. Basically what I'm saying a shotgun is just like made to specific feet pair of shoes. No worries for those that can't do that if they pray real, real hard it is said they will go to magical place or come back as people who can make the trip for them guns and proper attire.

No way. This is good for 3 more pages at least. And King hasnt chimed in yet on how morally superior and enlightened he is for only having one clunky Parker.

+1 LR. But don't forget the amazing tale of the Fox Sterlingworth King lost in a North Atlantic blizzard while duck hunting on the ocean with his imaginary friends John F. Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King... and returned months later to miraculously retrieve by scuba diving for it deep in icy waters at an age that Methuselah was barely able to still walk... and without GPS coordinates to locate where it went overboard. Legend has it that Jake (number 8), his Labrador retriever recalled exactly where it went into the drink after having a couple big green loogies forcefully spit down his throat in a cruel Nova Scotian version of canine waterboarding. Let's hope King learned something from that harrowing experience, and it now has one of those grotesque giant floatation pontoon forends they call beavertails.

That tops the list for useless posts. And it isn't even a good analogy. I had a pair of Luchesse boots custom made for me after a fitting and measuring. They were the most uncomfortable things I ever put on my feet, and the store owner did not require that I take them. I can take any off the shelf Mossberg and do a better job than those boots would have done.

Stick to what you know .............. foreign made foods.

I apologize obviously using tailored Italian suit for as analogy would have been a better choice. Next time you're in London stop by shoe shop where they can take your foot measurement and make molds so you can orders new shoes made to your feet when the need arises. The worlds best salami comes from Hungary. Man meal is Hungarian salami with Irish Swiss on Jewish rye washed down with Chopin vodka or Samichlaus bier. Hope that helps.
