Good advice, Rocketman . . .although one factor you don't want to forget is the difference in value between a sleeved gun and the same gun with original barrels, still in proof.

I have heard people complain about sleeved guns not feeling like the original gun. Here is the rub. You have a gun sleeved because the barrels are too thin, hence very light. The new barrels are thicker and heavier for sure or what's the point in sleeving? Perhaps they are struck slightly differently than the originals but you can't get around the extra weight.
I have a Lefever 20 which I am certain has never been honed and it measured .018 and .019 in multiple spots. If they were to be sleeved they would be much thicker and heavier. No way to duplicate the original feel in that one. But it is so thin I am reluctant to shoot it much without very low pressure loads.

I have talked to makers and workers in the UK as to the cost of new chopper lump barrels. From a 'maker' they run about 10K-11K BPS. From the actuall barrel maker (like Blacker) they are several thousand BPS less.
Dovetailed barrels are a bit less that chopper lump barrels.
How does the cost of high quality sleeving compare to new barrels?

How does the cost of high quality sleeving compare to new barrels? New barrels from the maker can cost more. Back in 2016 when I asked Purdey they quoted 19,500 pounds, which did not include shipping, customs etc. I believe sleeving is a good option done right. Sleeving done right is out there, Kirk Merrington did a 12 SLE which came back with the barrels weighing very close to their original stamped weight and beautifully handling. I have a pair of 16 SLE’s seamlessly sleeved in the UK which also handle like magic.

Thanks for the info. After shopping around, I felt it might be wiser to just buy a Brit 20. Have one on the way to my FFL now.
