Chukarman,
I use RST 12 gauge 2 1/2" plastic hulls to load 1/2 and 3/4 ounce lead loads for my H&H Hammergun that has 2 1/2" chambers.
I didn't think I could get consistent results starting out with 2 3/4" hulls so I didn't even try.
I managed to get an adequate supply of RST's hulls at the Northeast shoot at Hausmann's in PA in June and from guys that I shoot with.
I use those RST 2 1/2" hulls, CB6100-12 wads and Alliant Extra Lite powder and Winchester 209 primers.
More detail, for my 1/2 ounce loads, I use 14.0 grains of XL powder, a 1/8 inch thick card wad in the bottom of the CB6100 wad and a 6 point crimp on my MEC Sizemaster loader.
For 3/4 ounce loads, 14.3 grains of XL, nothing in the bottom of the CD wad.
I put a 1/4" spacer under the shell for the crimp starter and crimp station on my MEC.
The shells load and crimp fine and are a delight to shoot. They have been tested and produce 5000 - 6000 psi and about 1300 FPS.
If you want to try some of these, I would be happy to send you some of those hulls and wads to try. Just pay postage.
I hope this helps some.
Jolly
