A handsome gun. If you see a geezer in the UP woods carrying a French 2" 12 bore, that'll be me. We can stop and b.s.

C Man,That's the plan, hopefully to become my new main bird gun to give the Browning SL a well deserved rest.

Id rather have a 16 ga British gun with 28 barrels.....similar weight, better sighting plane with 28 as opposed to 26, at least for me, and shells dont take quite the room in the hunting vest. Nevertheless, thats a nice 12 bore. You should try those Caledonian Club shells in 1 oz we talked about in a different thread. I wish they had 16 bore shells, but alas.....the 12s in 1 oz and 1200 FPS kill birds great. No need for their hunting loads for quail and grouse.

Buzz,You forgot to mention that the 16 bore tubes nestle in the hand more perfectly than any other gauge!
Where are the Caledonian shells purchased? I'm still waiting for the 2 1/2" Kent ones to show up.

Look at Shell R Us website Karl. Just google it then check out the Caledonian shells. They are about $65.00 per 10 box flat. I killed more quail than I care to admit with their 1 oz shells at less than 1200 FPS. They charge for shipping though. Good shells imho and they have 12b 1 oz , 7/8 oz and 3/4 oz. I only buy 1 oz for hunting. RE the 16b English gun, it nestles well.
