Jerry, Yes I know the locking system on a 682 is as you say, what I am saying is that they have replaced this with a greener style crossbolt and made the trigger group removable. ASE 90 if available today would be in the mid twenty thousands and I think Bereatta decided that they would not sell in any volume at that price and really needed something to put up against Perazzi MX8, so they took a look at the 682 and said to themselves what can we get out of this old clunker and come up with a crossbolt locking system with the rub that buyers would think it to be a lower grade ASE. Very cynical marketing ploy that has backfired in thier faces and been a boom to Perazzi and the K gun
