To All Lefever Forum Members:

The Lefever Forum has recently been compromised by unknown hackers. BirdDogEd and myself have been locked out of our Administration panel and have no way to delete the hackers’ accounts, nor bring back the functionality of the main index page for navigation. It is also possible that the hackers have gained access to the email addresses you used when you signed up for the forum so it is essential going forward that you -

DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS IN EMAILS PURPORTING TO BE FROM THE LEFEVER FORUM ADMINISTRATORS OR FROM INFORME.COM (our erstwhile web hosting service.)

Ed and I will never send you any email that asks for personal information or that you click on a link to perform so-called “needed tasks.” We strongly recommend that you go into your account and change your passwords and emails. You must type your current password into the “current password” block before changing your email. A “throwaway” email is strongly suggested – you can google the term and find several sites offering the service. Remember, we will NEVER ask for personal information or that you click on any links in any emails that we may send. DELETE any emails from the Lefever Forum Admins that ask you for either.

It is still possible to navigate the site using the Search function or the "Jump to: [Select a forum]" drop-down menu located at the bottom right corner of several of the User links pages at the top of the Index page. You can also add new posts and delete them. However, we have no control over any aspect of the site, so post at your own risk.

We truly regret that this has happened to our forum. Ed and I have worked diligently since 2007 to insure that this type of thing would not occur, deleting as many as twenty bogus registration attempts a day from spambots and hackers. This just shows the level of sophistication of today’s hackers and the inherently unsafe nature of the internet. We doubt we will be able to regain control of this site as numerous pleas to Informe.com have gone unanswered, so going forward we consider the forum to be dead. It has been a privilege to have provided a dedicated forum for the Lefever enthusiast and to have met so many fine folks.

Best wishes and be safe out there,

ADG & BirDogEd
