Thank you all for this additional information. I am going to have to go back and look at the gun again if for no other reason than verify what I thought the serial number read.
After reading your posts and looking at the pictures I took a look at my gun and realized another difference in the gun at the shop is that it had no forend release lever. So it now stands as no cocking indicators, no forend latch, and modern drop at comb. I will try to go back and reread that serial number.
