Ive handled and repaired a few along with the 117s. They were imported in the late 1950s-70s I believe. They are a true sidelock but not the same quality as their current offerings. Parts were fit a bit crude and softer than I would have expected, engraving was typical for Spanish guns of the time. You will see them come up for sale anywhere from $600-$1500 depending on condition. With clean barrels and solid wood they make an ok entry level sidelock but if you shoot it much expect to have it repaired sooner rather then later.

I believe that time period would place it during the DIARM problems.

I believe DIARM was in the 1980s and this gun dates to the mid 1960s.

Thanks for the clarification, I was mistaken. Still, to have soft and unevenly hardened parts from the period of the 50's-70's isn't reassuring.

At least as a non-ejector, you only have to worry about if it fires or not.

Seller wants $800 firm and the gun isn't in bad shape, but it's far from NIB. I'll probably have to pass. I'm not a believer in the blue book, but with a listed price of $695 in "perfect" condition, it doesn't seem like a very good buy.

People see sideplates and think there's gold behind them.
Cheap Spanish doubles didn't improve in quality just because 50 years later the Spanish gun trade priced itself out of business.
