You can find a lot of them on EBay with bad straps or loose hinges and loose ends. I had a Amish fellow repair six or seven of them for me several years ago. Total cost for all repairs and three new straps was less than a humdred dollars. Very well done repairs for a fraction of one new(er) case cost. I use silicone gun socks to wrap my barrels and stock when I use them. Extra padding. Had him punch a couple extra holes on the devider and tie long leather laces to them. The socks are attached to the leather laces and stay with the case when not in use.
I like a Leg O Mutton case for light traveling protection but it is not much good for long term storage. Doubt any case is.
I nearly bought a case off EBay about ten years ago just because of the initials on its side. HHH Jr. But not being s fan of his I passed. Who knew a liberal Democrat had such a nice guncase.
