That is certainly a nice one. Here's another nicely decorated 16ga 1st year of production A-5 with a 3 digit serial # (266). The engraving on the gun in the OP looks factory while I'm pretty sure the one I posted was done after market...Geo

My recollection is the name "Sportsman was applied to "3-Shot" Remington model 11's.

That is a Remington (in the original post). Likely an E grade by the look of the engraving. Very nice dog.

The gun in the original post is a Sportsman E "Expert" Grade. Whether or not it is a Skeet Gun can't be told from that one picture. The Model 11 is the 5-shot gun. The Sportsman is the 3-shot gun. Remington never combined the names Model 11 and Sportsman. It is one or the other.
