Bill,

As of now the Lindner Daly article does mention his work for other retailers/makers (e.g., Wm. Schaefer & Son, Golcher, etc., etc.), but does not get into much detail. To be honest, the arrangements Lindner/SD&G had with these other companies is very murky. There are also not (yet) enough of these "other" makes in the database to conclude very much. And lastly, the article is pretty long as is so I'm trying to keep it focussd on this part of the story.

Of course, all this presumes Cote is even interested in the article.

Ken

I would assume that Cote is very interested in the article. The last articles dedicated to the Daly were the Bill Wise contributions. They were not full of technical or historical detail, but very interesting to those of us starved for information. And we all like Bill's writing style. The Sauer articles recently published were very well received, I would assume. I sure liked them, especially the serial number/date of manufacture information. It's time to get something in the hopper, Ken, even if you have to divide it into two parts. Murphy

That has to be one of the best roe deer/deer that I have seen engraved on a gun that isn't in the bulino style; especially for a gun that's of that date. Nice one Ross!

Thanks Mike

Ken,
I have an excellent Wm Schaefer with Lindner barrels. I can send details/pictures if you want.

Ross,

I'd love to see the Schaefer. Is it a "Wm. Schaefer" or a "Wm. Schaefer & Son" gun? Thus far, all the Schaefer Lindners recorded have been "Schaefer & Son" guns.

Below are some additional engraved action bottoms from the Lindner shop:
