My Grandaddy told me the only bike he ever owned was a used one he saved his money to buy from a neighbor boy. That evening, when his Daddy came in from the fields, he saw it and asked whose it was. Grandaddy replied that it was his, that he had saved his money and bought it. G-grandad's response was "When the sun comes up tomorrow morning it better be back where it came from. Two things I will not allow to make a track on my land ............... a goat and a bicycle. If you're going to walk you might as well walk standing up".
