Joe Lucas "Prince of Darkness" is spot on. The 40W headlight on my Velocette Venom shone what looked like a curved yellow tube onto the road ahead at about 40mph. Any faster and you could catch up with the tube of light and at 70mph pass it ! Eyes on stalks and speedy reactions were the only way to survive.


I was a Junior is high school when I saw my first Velo Thruxton in the flesh. I was previously smitten by the advert's in Cycle magazine extolling it as the first bike averaging 100 MPH for 24 hours. I guess the only real issue was getting the beast lit!! smile
