Well, it's always a good idea to look back at what the OP says he wants, in the very first post in this topic: "I want the best 20ga gun for the money." An Uggie 12, singular or as a part of a "composed" pair, isn't what he's looking for. And if he's willing to spend up to $3,000, he can get a far better gun than an Uggie 30, even in the gauge he specified, within his budget limit. One of my AyA 4 Deluxes in 20ga would be a good choice IMO . . . if he could find one for that price. Possible, because Spanish gun prices have taken a significant jump, and some guys are willing to part with them--and still come out ahead--because they bought them back when you could buy Uggie sidelocks for less than $3,000.
I just made a deal on an Orvis Grulla sidelock 20ga for just over the OP's budget. 27" barrels rather than 28", but otherwise set up the way he specified. An Uggie 30 or an Ithaca SKB 100 might compete for the best 20ga gun for the money if one's budget is $1,000, but you can do better if you're willing to spend 3x as much.
