Wouldn't discussing 'multiple variables' just be a strategy to legitimize unrelated agendas? We probably shouldn't assume all fires are equal. The more fuel, the bigger the fire, right? It's probably not the best idea to even bring up 'sound policy', isn't it in the eye of the beholder?
