It officially finishes our bird season and brings in the new year as well. It all started when I found myself sitting next to a gentleman at a Christmas concert who was in hospice and had only a week or so left. He explained that he was at the concert because he didn't want to waste not one minute left that he had. It made me think about my time, and that I should at least make an effort on the bird season's last day. That was 4 years ago, and I've celebrated the last day when possible ever since.
