Third parties do matter. They change outcomes. Had Teddy R not run in 1912 Wilson would not have been elected. Many people think the 1992 election was another example. Had Perot not run in 1992 Bush would have had a second term. When he, Perot, started babbling about hit squads coming down from Canada people should have known he did not want the job. He just hated Bush.

Most of H. Ross Perot voters would have gone for Bush if they only Bush or Clinton to vote for. Clinton only got 43% of the vote. Think what a difference that would have made. The Clintons would have returned to Arkansas and drifted into obscurity. The second Bush would most likely not gotten in later. The Jr. Senator form IL would still be that, or a village organizer.Vince Foster would still be alive. Global warming would still be the PC phrase. Al Gore might have gotten elected in 1996. That might have been fun. Beating out Dan Quaile. It is all HRP fault.

I think Newt ought to write a fictional book about this outcome. He wrote one about Lee winning Gettysberg and the South still lost the war. It was supply lines, man power reserves and the grinding nature of the war with less resources available in the South.
