I wonder if the length was determined partly by being a rebranded import. Wonder no more. Look at the picture of the box they're packaged in ................. says in the upper right corner "Made in the USA". SRH

I’ve heard multiple reports of 2” shells having issues in 2 1/2-2 3/4” chambers. How are these going to fare in 3” chambers which most modern pump guns come with? Any bridging or clumping if shot would seem to be more likely than not if gas escapes and causes the shot to distort. That was the explanation for the 2” problems.
On the plus side I knew a few hunters who loved trying to get an extra shell up the snout by trimming 2 3/4” hulls down to 2 1/2” to get three in the tube instead of the normal two. Like they could do kill more game if they only had a four shot instead of a three shot.

RST will provide the pressure data on their 2" shells and they make them in a variety of shot sizes. Both the Aguilla and Federal shells are limited in their loadings and are 1 3/4". Their prices seem the same as RST. It is great to have an alternative to RST, but I don't see these shells as being a nice alternative.

Well, I just checked and you're absolutely correct. While a lot of suppliers will now ship to the buyer it is supposed to go through a dealer. Thanks for informing me. And, I should have done the math, apologies. Recoil Rob,
To your two points...
Point 1.
As my 7th grade math equation shows, $14/25 is actually almost exactly the same as $5.95/10. (25/10=2.5, 2.5*5.95=14.88) And that's $14.88/25 MSRP, which will have a considerably lower list price, and likely better availability.
Point 2.
Unless I have completely missed it, the NYSAFE requirement for online buyers to be either "registered commercial buyers" or possess an FFL, is still in force since Jan of 2014. The only part which has been abandoned, under agreement, is the background check provision, because the State Police asserted that the creation and maintainence of such a database was unworkable.
But the law, as it was written banning online sales of ammo shipped direct to consumer, is STILL IN FORCE.
And while there may be a handful of out-of-state sellers who are still willing to ship directly to NY consumers, taking refuge in the laws of their OWN state...that offers you ZERO legal cover as a NYS resident.
The only LEGAL way to purchase ammo online as a retail consumer, under NYS law since 1/15/2014, is to have it shipped to an FFL.
BTW, this smells nothing like "Shall not be infringed."

Recoil Rob,
Glad I could help. 2A friendly NYers have to look out for one another.
The whole matter is remarkably confusing, mainly because our half-wit governor is making policy even as he doesn't understand even basic firearms nomenclature.

I COULD see a couple things, David. I only posed the OP because I was curious to see if anyone else had decided that.
As I said, presuming they shoot with similar pressures to RST or Polywad (and going by load and velocity, they are at least in the ballpark), and given they SHOULD be more widely available, they could be another option for vintage guns.
I just wondered if anyone had actually gotten their hands on them yet. Seems they've only been out a couple weeks.

The buckshot and slug shorties are listed on Federal's site at $11.95.
Ridiculous. They won't cycle in an autoloader, and it warns they may not in a pump.
