When I talked to Dean about this problem with a gun, a couple years ago, that was 8" off, he said that honing the choke to move one that much at 20 yards was "asking a lot", and probably couldn't be done. Six inches at 25 may be doable, but it's still a lot.

What distance it was determined to be 6" off is important. Six inches off at 16 yards is a lot bigger problem than that much at 35. Usually the amount that a barrel patterns out of regulation will increase as the distance to the target does, but it is "disguised" because the pattern enlarges enough for the aiming point to still be hit, but on the edge of the pattern. When you determine the center of the pattern you can still see it is off, tho'.
