Nice to see a Regular frame Field Grade "elsie" brought back to life. I think the checkering looks great from the pictures, and the wood is also very,very nice. Very nice job.

Very nice work, Bill. Checkering is hard to photograph. This looks very good to my eye. Hope you get to keep this one. I just acquired a 20 bore Lefever 30" damascus which will need a lot of TLC. However, I doubt I will be able to keep it for myself.

Bill: You should be very proud of the work. The lines of the stock work well with the action and the layout of the grain and the checking works very well. Keep the fire alive!!

I fiddled around with the project for quite a few years. It sat most of the time. I started the stockwork this spring. I have another LC Smith Im working on now to occupy my time....along with various other bolt action work and checkering to do.
