Thats a way, but not a very good or long lasting way. Its just a fast and cheap way to tighten up temporarily a slightly loose gun. And bubba should not be allowed to use a punch, hammer or wrong shaped screwdriver on a gun.

The video which came up for me did not use a hammer or punch. A new oversize hinge pin was fitted & then the hook fit to the new pin. Did not look particularly Fast or Cheap to me, & should be long-lasting if properly fit & finished.

For Fast & Cheap, best method I am aware of is a shim in the hook.

Replacing the hinge pin works best if the gun has a removable pin. If not, a better way may be one to which they also refer: either cutting a section out of the hook and replacing with a slightly larger section (also a traditional British method), or the more modern version of essentially the same thing: TIG welding the hook to build it up. Both are essentially a permanent version of the temporary shim fix.

Absolute best solution for a worn hinge pin on a double gun:

Guaranteed never to need hinge pin work, ever again.

There is a video by the same dynamic duo which showed how to upset metal to slightly tighten a slightly loose gun. I find many of Potterfields videos to show a way but not the way to do things.

Agreed Jon, I have seen that video also & like you do not recommend that method. This, however, was a different video & did show replacement of the hinge pin.
There have been other methods of compensating for hinge pin wear, but none quite as sim[ple & efficient as Dan Lefever's Ball & socket which nudge referred to.

How about this: my gunsmith says that in many cases he just makes a new wedge.

Cheers,
