I just finished a pair of Parker barrels. I used what has become my prefered method, 1 Wash and scrub with a steel brush the barrels using Simple Green concentrate. I do this twice using a graden hose to wash them off. Hang and let dry and then apply Brownells rust blue. Take a two hour nap and then boil them. I use a carding wheel to get the loose black rust off then I repete the process. Here in LA 2 hours is lots of rusting time. After the second rust I boil and card them again. I use CLEAN 0000 steel wool to card any tough to get areas. I then wipe them down with axel grease and let it set for 24 hours. Very good results!
