I had heard the name Shattuck many years ago in reference to a Big Goose gun. I believe it was an 8 gauge but may have been a 10. A single barrel in either case. I far as I can recall I never saw one of them, had just heard the name.


Sears listed a single barrel 10 gauge Goose gun in their 1908 catalog with a 36" twist barrel & weight of 9 lbs. It had a top snap action with rebounding hammer & the illustration shows a removable hinge pin with of lever type for removal.

I do not know if Shattuck built this gun for them or not. I seem to recall in an earlier catalog, perhaps around 1902 they listed a Single 8 gauge.
