Chestnuts are falling. The tree was pruned this year and the difference is astonishing...we've had three bushel baskets compared to a half bushel the years before and still have half the chestnuts to fall. The results will be illustrated - with pork roast, soups, etc. Life as a hunter/gatherer is good.

The deer are looking. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .but smart humans have beat them to the bounty

Pheasant, Chestnuts and a stewed apple from a couple of years ago...from the last line before the graffiti artists got at it:

Burgers for lunch, salmon for dinner:

That was the plan, anyway. A quick blast in the Olds to Dairy Queen spoiled dinner, so, the salmon will be for lunch tomorrow..

Best,

Not on Saturday or Sunday! If it ever happens, that is way north of 50 an hour.

Best,
Ted

I hear Tim Hortons has coffee, if you need to take the rough edge off before church. I married a Colombian, coffee is a form of church, here.

Best,
Ted

Doing some goose chests on the grill- I filet out the meat, from our bonus early season on Canadas-- marinate in Vernor's ginger ale, with a small dash of soy sauce added before the filets hit the grill (charcoal, of course) even bed of coals on one side of the Weber kettle grill- the chest filets are sprinkled with olive oil, coarse ground pepper- and cooked like you would do a NY strip sirloin. Baked potatoes with sour cream and chives, artichokes, Caesar Salad and a chilled Lambrusco- Mama Mia-- Foxy
