Any have a recommendation for someone who has experience restocking a Manufrance Ideal?
I cracked the stock on a Manufrance Ideal. Rather than fix the crack through the wrist, I would rather restock it.

Check with Geoffrey Gournet, and J.J. Perodeau. You might be disappointed at what they have to say.
Good luck.
Best, Ted

Old Colonel, if you decide to have a stock built, I'll give you a pretty fancy turkish walnut blank that's been taking up room in my closet for years. It might help defray your expense. It is rough turned, but would probably work just fine to replace a Manufrance buttstock...Geo

Best, Ted I was not aware that GG did restocking. Thought he only was an engraver. SRH

Best, Ted I was not aware that GG did restocking. Thought he only was an engraver. SRH GG is actually a Liege trained gunmaker (Leon Mignon?) that happens to specialize in engraving. He used to do some gunsmithing along with his engraving, he especially liked to work on Darnes. He re-did a Darne R-15 for me a few years ago and did an extremely nice job of it too. I do believe he has since decided to concentrate 100% on engraving. If we wanted to, he could easily fix, repair or make a gun. He has the formal training to accomplish any of it.

Thanks Dustin. I met Geoffrey a couple years ago, and got him to engrave something for me, but never knew that he was a trained gunmaker.

Geoffrey also has contacts here, and in France that can do work on French guns. The work in France has been curtailed, but, that might not be permanent. He is a good place to start when you have issues with a French gun.
Best, Ted
