"RECENT FULL RESTORATION BY MASTER GUNSMITH ED LANDER"....that claim should be grounds for a law suit by the purchaser.

Concerning the position of the toplever: almost all hammerless Crass and Lewis models have a thin spring, that is held in place by a screw in the underside of the receiver, which holds a small pin vertically and when the cylindrical bolt which engages the barrel lug is retracted, there's a notch in the underside of the cylindrical bolt which the pin falls into & prevents the toplever from closing. If he is correct in that it is a Crass model(and it is by the number or screws and their position), it might require closer inspection.
Kind Regards,

It is a NIG, it is neither a Crass or a Lewis, they are hammerless guns!! The NIG was the hammer gun made concurrently with the Crass, Lewis, Minier and early Flues model hammerless guns.

With the receiver screw configuration and info from Walt's Book(2nd Edition) he mentions that a "hammer Crass" was made.

Homeless: I was commenting on my, and others, not noticing that this could not be a Crass. It has hammers. Guess this proves that eye witnesses can NOT be trusted to see some things as it really is.LOL Best, John
