ellenbr Sidelock Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 12,349 Likes: 464 North Alabama	Concerning the position of the toplever: almost all hammerless Crass and Lewis models have a thin spring, that is held in place by a screw in the underside of the receiver,which holds a small pin vertically and when the cylindrical bolt which engages the barrel lug is retracted, there's a notch in the underside of the cylindrical bolt which the pin falls into & prevents the toplever from closing. If he is correct in that it is a Crass model(and it is by the number or screws and their position), it might require closer inspection.
