Rick and Rob - those are beautiful guns!
This one newly returned to me post repair and refinish. James MacNaughton, Edinburgh, 12 ga. It doubled on me first outing in March. Most likely happened due to glove contacting rear trigger as locks are in excellent condition.

First photo pre-break, then broke, then repaired (with no guarantee of course but am optimistic).

I really like that one, and from Edinb(rah)urgh, be still my heart! Hopefully that repair last many lifetimes!

Amazing well done repair! I always enjoy the before and after photos showcasing a craftsman's work.

It broke like that solely due to the gun doubling?

No Stan, it had a previous repair unknown to me and as you can see the condition of the wood was just another break waiting to happen.

Oh, okay. I was confused on that. Thanks.

Hope the repair "holds".

That's a lovely hammer gun, JB, who did the work?

Rob, work done by forum member CJ Dawe in Newfoundland. Several guns now restored by Chris and could not be happier with the quality of his work. He was highly recommended to me by Gunsaholic and Canvasback

Beautiful guns above. New to my battery this year is a little British 20 bore choked .005/.006 and weighing in at 5lbs 3.5 ozs. Its amazing they were able to produce this gun with 28 inch barrels and a 15 inch stock at this weight. Proof marks date it to the 1930s. As light as it is, it still balances forward of the hinge pin and swings very nicely. I have suspended my search for a personal 28 gauge in this wight class due to this find. A true grouse hunters wand.

W.R. Pape 20 bore, 2 1/2" chambers. 30" barrels, 1/4 and 1/2 chokes. 14 1/2" LOP with decent drop. Needs a bit of cosmetic cleanup, barrel finish is excellent, barrels are sound and thinnest spot is .022 at 26". Thumb lever is under the action. Easier to use than I expected.

As a Plus I have a set of Briley .410 Ultra light tubes which fit perfectly and even with tubes, it comes in at 6 pounds 7 ounces. Without the tubes it is 5 pounds and 13 ounces.
