The pheasant show was shot in Nebraska. My fave was Bing and Phil shooting sand grouse in Africa with 28 gauges.

Steve, I think there must have been two pheasant hunting episodes. The one in Iowa was shot on Ron Holden's land near Williamsburg, IA. Holden has a really impressive collection of sxs. Supposedly dwarfs the Peterson collection.

I wonder if you can still find those old episodes somewhere?

Chuck "American Sportsman" into Youtube and you will find some of them. Not very good quality, but they are still worth watching and still the best hunting and fishing show ever made.

Here is one of Bing Crosby big game hunting in Alaska.

Edited to add that anything that features Curt Gowdy as host is A-OK with me. Would rather have met that man than any of his guests.

On the topic of Bing Crosby, he hunted upland birds in southern Alberta, in the 50's, possibly into the 60's. One of his guns was a field grade superposed that he left to the rancher who hosted the hunt.

I happen to have possession of Bing's factory engraved Model 12 Pigeon Grade two barrel set, with gold embossed leather case, which I enjoy shooting on a regular basis. However, I wish it were his Purdey. I also wish I had pictures of Bing with the Winchester.

You have a treasure, Eightbore especially if you are a Winchester collector. There must be a good story of how you came into possession of this fine shotgun---do you wish to share the history with us?
