What vendors sells low pressure 16ga. 2.5" shells in individual boxes? I won't be using this gun much, but would like to have shells available when i do. I'd rather not have to purchase a flat.
Thanks,

Switch to a 12br and your problem will go away.

Classic Upland Supply (www.classicusc.com) sells RST shells by the box. I ordered a few 16 gauge boxes on 8/31, they were shipped out that day, and arrived on 9/13. Albert was very pleasant to deal with.

Look at yesterday's post of "Eley Grand Prix source?" Fiocchi has a 67mm 16 bore but I'm not sure of 65mm at MidwayUSA. Game Fair LTD-www.gamefairltd.com in Nashville usually has a selection of 2 1/2" shotshells.

Kind Regards,

Battle go to http://www.polywad-shotgun-shells.com/16gavin6/
you will find some there.
I had looked into some low-pressure from RST and they weren't that low-pressure, not that I would shoot anyway. I was looking for loads around 8,000 psi. and under. I have been reloading 16 ga 2 1/2" and there is a great deal of information at http://www.16ga.com/forum/
Good luck.

According to RST their 16 ga 1 oz shells test out at 1145 fps and 6600 psi, and their 16 ga 7/8 oz shells tested at 1100 fps and 5700 psi. If you have any questions on the specs of their shells call them at 570-553-2845 and they will give the info on the phone.

Good Luck.......Chicago Mike

Another source for boxes of 2 1/2" shells would be Fieldsport in Traverse City, MI. They carry a fairly good supply of shells. Just google "Fieldsport" and they will pop up.

Kent Gamebore also makes short 16's, as does Eley.

Last I looked Fieldsport, British Sporting Arms Ltd and Ballistic Products had some Gamebore shells. Woodcock Hill has been a source for Kent Non-tox as well as Gamebore shells.

I think I have gotten some of the Polywad shells through Fieldsport in the past but have also ordered straight from Jay. These are good shells.

Eley and ARMUSA are done in the US as far as I can tell. Some shops still have a few shells around.

Many stock the RST shells which have worked fine for me. In fact, they are my favorites for my LC Smith as well as my older hammer guns. I tend to buy these shells in bulk when I can to avoid the shipping costs. For example, Alex had the truck at the UP Classic (Michigan) this past June and will have it at Pintail Point (Maryland) for the Vintagers.

The B&P shells are great but stouter in my opinion--not for me in my older guns.

(Same with the Winchester shells from Australia and these are not 2 1/2 inch.)

I have liked the Westley Richards shells when available. I find them to compare favorably to the Polywad. These may still be made by Lyalvale.
