Bill, MD and the Baltimore Show are a fairly long hike from my neck of the woods.
I went through my old Shooting Sportsman mags and found the March-April 2004 with your "E" on page 51, a nice early Lefever with great history. Someone also sent me images from a March 1996 Lefever Arms Collectors Assoc Newsletter showing two different "E" grades (#9452 & #10462) with very little engraving. Bill mentioned earlier that his "E Grade 16 #9568 doesn't even have scroll rosettes, only nicely engraved screws and borders", and this is much like the "E" #10598 I have found. If I read the numbers correctly it is only 83 away from Miller 2-piper's 10ga Lefever, SN'd 10515. I believe this 16 to be an "E" and as I said before, looking closely, the grade mark on the water table appears to be a weak or faint "E" stamp. Below are some pic's, what are your thoughts, is it a keeper?
