What I'm looking for is a short poem. It's
message is 'remember me from time-to time but
get on with your life.'
I think I saw it on this forum. Sorry I can't be more specific.

I think that the poem you may be looking for is the one I posted a number of years ago.


Now that I am dead cry for me a little
think of me sometimes.
But not too much.
Remember me now and again as I was in life,
at some moment when it is pleasant to recall.

The first poem is as suitable for a companion pet as well as a human, this one strictly for a life's companion dog.

Oh God, my master,
should I gain the grace
to see thee face to face when life is ended.
Grant that a little dog who once pretended
