My son, when he was very young, as many children do, got quite interested in dinosaurs. That morphed into an interest in all ancient animals which turned into an interest in modern animals. Which led him to the scientific names for things. All this by the time he was six. One day, when he was in second grade, I found him at my computer trying to teach himself Greek and Latin, to better understand the names of creatures. That interest continues to this day. The first year he could take Latin at school was in 9th grade. His year-end mark was 100.

Because he knows I took Latin (50 years ago) I have been being tested on my knowledge for the last 8 years. I'm getting tired of Latin. LOL
