Photos and author are 2 different people. The are several colors of bright iridescent carpet or blankets as background.

I've seen this stuff before but not this bad. And I'm more surprised the publishers approve it.

I don't subscribe to the DGJ so I'm only guessing at the article and photos that you are referring to. They were probably photos taken by the owner and yes he always over exposes his photos. I'm also guessing that the background was either large pebbles or a yellow towel. I guess he can since he is the owner of the gun(s). He does own one of the finest collection of Parkers and other American shotguns in the country. We should all be so fortunate.
