LRF, I greatly enjoyed this thread on the Steyr-Mannlicher rebuild and was happy to see you found a W. W. Greener Lee-Speed.
Lee-Speeds have clearly gone up in value on this side of the pond since I last owned one about 50 years ago, but I was surprised by the asking price on this one.

It has the slot for the magazine cut-off but as a sporting rifle that may never have been fitted (or soon thrown away?).
I gave a friend, as a wedding present, a Lee-Speed Officer’s Carbine with all the sporting features but stocked almost to the muzzle with a nose cap to take the Pattern 1888 Bayonet.
