Jon,
We tested negative this morning. Hows that? CA is doing the instant tests now? Best you can do here is 48hrs for a nasal swab result.Ive had many, sadly. Thinking about getting the antibody count test soon. There are a bunch of 20-30 minute test stations around here.

Chuck, My suggestion is to get tested several times until you are well past any window for infection. Do not let testing issues stop you. Your mother in law, wife and self are too important to risk.
My case, to me, was moderate. I am going to live. Doctor seemed less in agreement about how bad it was. Worse my wife, two sons and sister in law are all doctors, so they all have their opinions. My greatest point of luck is to catch this after they have had ten months of clinical learning about what treatments work. I got no magic bullets but I did get excellent care in a timely manner.
Recovery will be a longer haul than I want but I should get there. I was not on a ventilatory but was close to being placed on one twice. Being hard headed helps. I am dealing with the POTS, I think it is just a mild case. Maybe not and I am just trying to pretend so. My most important goal was to get home and not pass this onto any others, especially my wife. That I was lucky in that result. Now I have three months of semi immunity. Big consolation prize to me. I just wish the weights did not seem to be four times regular weight. Never thought a five pound dumb bell would feel like 20 pounds and I don't want to try a 20-25 pound one right now.

Thanks Jon. Yes, we have a plan to test at least once more before we go back to our "normal" pandemic mode. We'll probably do more than one more.

Jon, your strength will come back. It may even surprise you how quickly. Three weeks ago I couldn't walk through the house without holding on to chair backs, the mantle, door casings, etc. I couldn't have picked up 5 lbs. to chest level. Yesterday morning I replaced a bearing in a peanut inverter. We went and bought groceries at the supermarket and I was able to walk with the wife the whole time without sitting down. Late yesterday afternoon I shot my 20 ga. 687 SP II Sporting about 20 times at clays, off of a backyard trap. I was surprised at how easily I could hold the gun up. We're going to shoot a round of sporting this afternoon and I'm going to start off with my 32" Perazzi (9 # + gun). I'll carry the 20 ga. just in case the big MX8 gets to be too much for me towards the last.
I've pushed myself, understanding that the way to build back lost muscle is the use what you have left everyday until you are really tired, breaking down the muscle structure. Eat plenty of protein ( my reputation as a carnivore makes that easy, plus I add unflavored protein powder to lots of stuff), and get plenty of sleep, and the muscles will rebuild themselves. My GP told me to expect a 100% restoration of lost muscle mass.
Good luck, buddy. I can empathize with how you feel, and I'm pulling for you.

Also Jon, all the best on getting back to normal. Nothing is moderate if it involves hospital time. I have some familiarity with a case or two, and most show little to no symptoms. The plain old grocery store, that has never been carved out as a particular concern, may be a handy place to get exposed or gather up contaminated items and bring it home.

The most dangerous thing about Covid19 is that extreme misinformation about it may lead the U.S. to elect a Liberal Left Socialist anti-gunner named Joe Biden. I take this virus seriously, but I still do not personally know one single person who contracted it, let alone died from it. I have worked all through it and was not subject to the lock-down. Yet look at this hysterical response to Geo Newbern's question below... Chuck, I'm sorry to see that due to neighborhood occurrence of the contagion you have decided to re-isolate and give up shooting. I respect your careful response to the perceived danger, but wonder how curtailing your shooting serves to further protect yourself or the other club members. It is your business and I am not preaching anything, but I just do not understand the extreme reaction???...Geo If Chuck is asymptomatic and then kills half his gunclub, Well...
Better to wait a little while. So according to ClapperZapper, an asymptomatic Chuck H could kill half his gun club if he infects them. Wow, that would mean Covid19 is nearly as deadly as Ebola! I just spent a couple hours trying to learn the actual CFR (Confirmed Fatality Ratio) or IFR (Infection Fatality Ratio). But because of Fake News, misinformation, and politics, it appears likely that we will just never know how bad Covid19 really is. However, even with very apparent extreme over-reporting of fatalities, it looks like the IFR in the U.S. is less than 0.6%... probably much less. If that is true, that would mean Covid19 is still more deadly than the seasonal flu. But it is a very long way from a situation where Chuck H could spread it and "kill half of his gun club." In stark contrast, the 1918 Spanish Flu killed over 195,000 people in the U.S. in just the month of October 1918 alone, at a time when the U.S. population was less than 1/3 of what it is today. In 1918, we didn't have near as much travel and near as much social contact as we do today in huge WalMart Super Centers and chain grocery stores filled with people improperly wearing masks and cashiers touching their mask frequently as they touch your groceries. Bodies piled up in big cities because they couldn't produce coffins fast enough, and survivors were too sick to bury them. Many who died then were quite young, unlike the 90 year old nursing home patient in Shotgunjones obituary link. Earlier this year, we were led to believe that Covid19 could be nearly as bad, or even worse. It really could be. But only if misinformation and political propaganda leads this country to elect an extreme Liberal Left anti-gun Socialist like Joe Biden. Altzheimer Joe Biden has spent over 45 years working very hard to bring us closer to the day when Chuck H cannot infect anyone at his gun club, because law abiding citizens no longer have the right to own and shoot them. Joe Biden has a 100% anti-gun voting record, and would nominate Supreme Court Justices who do not believe that the 2nd Amendment says we have an Individual Right to own firearms. rocky mtn bill notes here that his political beliefs differ from KYJon. Thank God for that! In another thread in the gunsmithing forum, rocky mtn bill asks how to make holes in gun barrels disappear. By voting for Joe Biden, he could make the whole gun disappear, because Joe Biden thinks that Australian Gun Control is what we need here:
Voting for anti-gun Democrats is dumber than giving treats to a dog that shits on a Persian Rug

Quick report ........ I shot the whole round yesterday afternoon with the big MX8 12. It was tiring, but I shot well. I'm sure that will help rebuild those muscles needed to hold it mounted. I feel great this morning, not sore or tired.
Keep pushing yourself, Jon. You can get your strength back. I'm praying for you.
