Ah!
More information and a response from a real person who might in fact turn out to be an enthusiast. Thank you for that Sean and I sincerly hope I've read this whole thing wrong. I hope you understand my reasoning.
You likely didn't get hurt too bad and this is a learning experience like we've all had.
'Parker' is an old an respected name. Please understand that the guns are not rare, but condition is. A junker BMW is a junker still. We still can't really evaluate the gun for you. Detailed photos of the breech and bores are required, and from the initial pix it doesn't look real good.
I chimed in mostly due the opinion from another that the Uggie was in 'top condition'. I'm not sure if that was tongue in cheek or not. We don't have barrel pix on that one either. Depending on actual condition of the barrels both internal and external it may be a $400-$600 gun. The corrosion hurts the value of that gun by 50%.
The model 58 is another mystery of course, but they have a history of frame issues. You may a have a perfectly sound gun. They are a nice piece in the history of Remington guns. It ALL depends on condition.
Allow me to extend my welcome to the board and apologize for the method used to pump some information and 'validity' from you.
Like buzz says, I'm not always right but I'm never in doubt.
